Recover. With Moringa
Although most often associated with gym regimes, Recovery is a process everyone’s body goes through daily
What is Recovery? Why is it important?
The word Recover is most often used in association workout and training regimes. It is the period of time where the body repairs itself from the stresses and strains we have put it through to allow it to become stronger and more able to deal with the environment.
The repair could result in an aesthetic change such as muscle growth in a gym regime but it could be behind the scenes such as reducing the inflammation around a joint.
However recovery is important even if not engaged in physical exercise. The stresses of modern life are such that your body needs opportunity to recover. Successful recovery requires two things resting time and nutrition. The amount of resting time needed can be reduced when you have optimum nutrition.
Recovery covers a range of processes that include:
- Replenishing the muscle and liver glycogen stores
- Consuming protein to assist with muscle repair
- Restoring fluid and electrolytes lost in sweat
- Supporting the immune system to handle the damage

What is Moringa?
The Moringa Tree or Moringa Oleifera is one of the most nutrient rich plants in the world. Its native to South Asia and now found throughout the tropics. Its leaves have been used in traditional medicines for centuries and more recently the western world has woken up to its miracle like properties.
Sometimes called the miracle tree, drumstick tree, horseradish tree, its packed full of protein, calcium, beta carotene, vitamin C, potassium, and more. As such we like to call it “Nature’s Multivitamin”.
What makes Moringa so special?
Its a full protein, it contains 18 amino acids and all 9 essential amino acids. Two of these essential amino acids, Isoleucine and Leucine, help build protein and enzymes to increase energy during training.
It has 46 antioxidants and 36 anti-inflammatories to reduce post work out inflammation, which when consumed vastly decrease muscle repair time.
Moringa powder also contains high amounts of blood-pumping iron and potassium. Its iron content – 3 times the amount found in Kale – helps the blood deliver more oxygen to your muscles, aiding in faster recovery. And its potassium content – 3 times the amount found in bananas – is important for increasing muscular energy and assisting in protein synthesis.
It’s also bursting with 7 times the amount of Vitamin C that you’d find in an orange, which helps the body deal with stress and recovery, and which can get depleted during exercise.
Its recovery profile is so strong that synthetic or non natural recovery shakes or drinks struggle to compare.
